Edward F. "Bo" Bocock, 85, Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2006 at a local hospital.
Edward was born January 4, 1921 in Wichita, the son of Sherman and Mable (Johnson) Bocock. He was raised by his grandparents in rural Gridley.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and wounded during a battle in the Apanine Mountains of Italy.
Edward was employed for over 30 years at the Colmery-O'Neil V.A. Medical Center as a Nursing Assistant, retiring in 1976. After he retired, he and his wife moved to Leroy where they resided until returning to Topeka in 1997 due to health reasons.
Edward married Nettie L. McCormick on April 18, 1942 in Burlington. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Clark and husband, David, Madera, California and Patricia Feeken, Topeka; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a sister, Thelma Baker, Waco, Texas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Louise Bocock and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Chapel at the Colmery-O'Neil V.A. Medical Center. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Edward will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.
