Edna Mae Senne, 84, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born on April 11, 1926 in Topeka, the daughter of Edwin A. and Winifred I. Kerle Rosander. Edna graduated from Topeka High School in 1944 and was employed as a Secretary for the Kansas Supreme Court for 22 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was involved with the quilters group and was active in Topeka bowling circles for a number of years.
Edna married Norbert W. Rettig on October 22, 1945 in Topeka. They were divorced. Edna married Harold R. Senne on August 22, 1970 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one daughter; Christine Rettig-O'Neil on December 26, 2006 and her sister; Nancy Rosander on February 24, 1944. Survivors include one son; Stan (Karla) Rettig of Topeka, one daughter; Susan (Ken) Robbins of Houston, TX, six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; one brother; James E. (Lynda) Rosander of Westmoreland, KS and two nieces.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Edna will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, 901 S.W.
