Age 71, of Topeka, Ks (formely of Valleys Falls, KS) passed away at her home December 18, 2002. Mrs. Landes was born October 15, 1931 in Hot Springs, Arkansas the daughter of Archie and Lottie Dorris Rodgers, She grew up in Hot Springs, AR moving to Topeka in 1959 and worked in Valley Falls, KS and also in Topeka, KS retiring as manager of Benefits Administration for Volume Shoe of Topeka, KS.

She was married to Burrell Landes May 26, 1984 in Topeka, KS , He survives:

One Daughter: Rita Jones Topeka, KS

Three Step-Sons: Burrell Landes, Jr. Littleton, CO

Richard Landes London, England

John Landes Topeka, KS

Two Sisters: Betty O'Neal Hot Springs, AR

Florence Brumley Hot Springs, AR

Three Brothers: Joe Rodgers Hot Springs, AR
Archie Rodgers Hot Springs, AR
Marvin Rodgers Hot Springs, AR

Six granddaughters, Two step- granddaughters, Three Step-grandsons and
numerous step-great -grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM Monday, December 23, 2002 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will be in Valley Falls Cemetery. Mrs. Landes will lie in state from noon to 9:00 PM Sunday, December 22, 2002 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, The family will receive friends and relatives from 3:00PM-4:30PM that evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice and may be left at the funeral home.
