Edna Dorothylillian Larson Dicke

Edna Dorothy Lillian Larson Dicke, 103, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at McCrite Plaza in Topeka. She was born January 11, 1912 in Scandia, Kansas the fourth daughter of Martin August and Hannah Peterson Larson.
Edna graduated from Courtland High School. She moved to Topeka in 1930 where she met her husband, Ernest Frederick Dicke. She was a member successively of St. John's Lutheran Church in Topeka, Ada Lutheran Church in Courtland, KS and Hope Lutheran Church in Topeka.
Edna was employed at Santa Fe Hospital for over twenty years prior to retiring in 1977. She was granted an honorable membership to the Centenarian Society of Kansas from Governor Brownback.
Edna married Ernest Frederick Dicke on August 12, 1934 in Courtland, Kansas. She and her husband owned and operated Clover Farm Grocery Store in Courtland. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1949. She was also preceded in death by five sisters. Survivors include three children, Marcia Wade of Topeka, Lowell Dicke of La Jolla, California, Karen (Michael) Noland of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters, Delores Long of Garden City, Kansas and Winifred Krueger of Topeka.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Hope Lutheran Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Graveside committal services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Ada Cemetery, Courtland, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Hope Lutheran Church, 2636 SE Minnesota Ave., Topeka, KS 66605 or to Ada Lutheran Church, 442 Valley Rd., Courtland, KS 66939. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family.
