Edith Mable Roach died on May 5, 2007 at Plaza West Regional Health Center in Topeka. Mable was born in Lignite, ND on February 28, 1922, the daughter of Edith F. Bly and Ticie L. Kintz.
Mable was married to Clinton W. Roach in Oskaloosa, KS on June 15, 1940. He preceded her in death along with her parents and great-grandson.
She attended schools in Amarillo, TX and Topeka, KS where she graduated from Washburn High School. She was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church, the Insurance Women of Topeka and American Business Women of Topeka.
She was employed by Fink-Williams Insurance Agency for 26 years and Trinity Insurance Companies for 10 years before her retirement in 1987.
Survivors include a sister, Marlene and her husband, Terry Lohrbach; a daughter, Roberta Fowler; three grandchildren, Ken and his wife, Sandy Turner, Clint and his wife, Mercedes Turner, and LeeAnn Dickerson; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mable will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., 66604. Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Plaza West or Heart of America Hospice in care of the funeral home.
