Earlene Carnes Rucker of Topeka died peacefully in her sleep on May 2, 2016.
She was born Mary Earlene Carnes on a farm near Jamestown, Kentucky on August 4, 1924. She was the third child and only daughter of Chester Carnes and Mary (Pierce) Carnes. She lived in Kentucky until her marriage to John B. Rucker in May of 1948. They moved to Topeka in the early 1950's.
Earlene was a homemaker and an active member of Quivera Heights Church of Christ for many years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and painting.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Richard C. Rucker.
She is survived by her son Robert Rucker, and two grandchildren, Genevieve M. Rucker and Sarah A. Rucker.
Her body was cremated and a Memorial Service is being planned for later this Summer.
