Background: Attended Topeka schools. Served in the United States Marine Corp during WWIIas a member of the 5th Tank Battalion. He served on Iwo Jima when they raised the flag on Mt. Suribachi. After WWII he became a member of IBEW Local 226 and was employed by OK Johnson Electric of Topeka. He was an instructor of the electrical apprenticeship program for many years. In 1976 he moved into management with construction companies in both Pennsylvania and Texas. While in this position he was project engineer of co-generation plants in California, Arkansas, Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Texas, and New York. He retired in 1994. He was a member of VFW Post #1650 and Highland Park United Methodist Church.
Relatives: Married to: Marita Ellis on July 31, 1943 in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on March 8, 1966. He married Joyce Gunselman on September 20, 1968 in Topeka, Kansas. She survives.
