7. Background: He moved to Silver Lake during his sophomore year and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1947.He
served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was wounded and upon leaving the military, he was honorably discharged with the
rank of Sgt. 1st Class. He retired after 37 years of service from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

8. Relatives: Married to: Lavina J. Mauer on December 29, 1951 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Topeka.
She survives.

graveside service.

It is his great love for people which kept him busy in a variety of activities in his post-retirement years. His distinctive laugh was
recognized and appreciated by family, friends and strangers alike. The sole expression of sympathy as requested by his family is to
continue to remember him in their masses, communions and prayers as well as attending the mass to be said for the repose of his soul. It
will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 7:55 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
