Earl A. Ward, formerly of Yoder, KS, passed away April 4, 2013 in Tucson, AZ where he was residing with his son. He was born the fourth son of eight boys to John and Ethel Ward on June 19, 1922 in Moffat County, CO on the family farm.
Earl was united in marriage on September 8, 1945 to Georgia Lois Penry while home on leave from WW II where he served our country with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Campaign aboard various battleships. He was a member of various Baptist churches in Kansas and Arizona, retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post No. 1650.
Earl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years. He is survived by daughter, Earline Shaw, Phoenix, AZ, son, Larry Ward, Hutchinson, KS, son, Leonard Ward Sr., Tucson, AZ, brothers, Robert, Chester and Keith Ward, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Funeral service will be 10 am, Saturday, April 13 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow with military honors at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. To leave a special memory of Earl, please visit the guestbook below.
