Dwight Brown

Mr. Dwight C. Brown of Topeka passed away April 29, 2004. Mr. Brown attended and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Architecture and Engineering. He served as State Architect under Gov. John Anderson. Mr. Brown was the owner of Dwight Brown and Associates Architects. During this time he designed Ellsworth Hall at KU, Linn Elementary School, and the library at Lyndon, KS, the AAA Building in Topeka, Gage Village, and the grade school in Oberlin, KS, the addition to the Natatorium at University of Kansas and the renovation at KU Student Union. Mr. Brown was commissioned by the United States Senate to design the statue base of the Eisenhower Statue located in Abilene, KS.

Mr. Brown married Marie Paschal and had three children; Nancy Brown Stayton, Suzanne Brown McVey and Claudia Brown Stevenson. After Marie Brown's death he married his present wife, Martha and they raised seven children; Aimee, Robert, Michael, Jared, Dann, Suzanne and Sarah. Mr. Brown is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
