Dwaine Carroll Hudson

Dwaine C. Hudson, 98, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022.

He was born May 14, 1924, in Fairbury, Nebraska, the son of Ralph and Anna (Mobley) Hudson. Dwaine was a long time member of the United Church of God. He was ordained on March 3, 1968. He has served as an elder in God's Church for over 36 years.

On April 24, 1948, he married Eleanor Magnabosco in Chicago. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2016. Survivors include his sons, Michael (Judy) Hudson and Dennis (Janice) Hudson; brother Dennis Hudson; three grandchildren, Zachary, Heidi and Dustin and eleven great grandchildren. Dwaine is preceded in passing by his siblings, Keith Hudson, Ralph Hudson, & Evelyn Peterson.

Dwaine joined the United States Navy in October 1942. He was honorably discharged in 1948. Dwaine was recalled to active duty in May of 1951 to serve in the Korean War. He was later discharged in 1952.

He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years as a telegrapher, printer clerk and retiring as the wire chief manager in December of 1985.

A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Penwell-Gabel, Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604. Dwaine will be laid to rest at Prairie Home Cemetery in Diller, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mike Hudson to help Dwaine's Grandson, Zach Hudson for his expenses in his fight with ALS. Make checks payable to Mike Hudson and address the envelope with the following Zach Hudson PO Box 245 Kittredge, CO 80457
