Duane A. Touslee, 83, Garden City, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Dec. 8, 2009, at Garden Valley Retirement Village. He was born July 25, 1926, in Levant, KS, the son of S.E. (Rust) and Leona Dryden Touslee.
Duane was a 1944 graduate of Colby High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Kansas Wesleyan in 1951. He was a Tax Examiner for the State of Kansas for 43 years. Duane was a long-time member of The First United Methodist Church in Topeka; the American Legion; and the VFW. He served in the US Army (1945-46), stationed in Japan.
On May 21, 1972, he married Dorothy Porter in Topeka. She passed away June 28, 1997. Duane moved to Garden City in 2005 to be closer to his family.
Survivors include: siblings, Boyd and Esther Touslee of Colby and Bill and Marilyn Touslee Pabst-Phillips of Garden City; niece, Tami Johnson; nephews, Tod Pabst, Ty Touslee, Troy Touslee, and Toby Touslee; 7 great nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel on Monday, Dec. 14, 2009. Interment will be at the Topeka Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, Topeka.
