Drennan Davis

Drennan E. Davis, 72, Topeka, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2005 at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Drennan was born September 14, 1932 in Jacksonville, IL, the son of Charles Wayne and Willa Iona Kerley Davis. He graduated from Rushville Illinois High School in 1951.

Upon graduation, he entered the United States Air Force and served for 22 years. He retired as a Chief Master Sargeant in July of 1974.

He spent the next 30 years working along side his wife at Coldwell Banker Griffith and Blair as a real estate agent.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church and belonged to the Faithbuilder's Sunday School Class.

Drennan married Shirley Rice on September 14, 1952 in Hannibal, MO. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Michael Davis, Sacramento, CA, Tim Davis and Richard Davis both of Topeka, and a daughter, Linda Gordy, Topeka, 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his step-mother, Marguerite Davis, Springfield, IL and a half-sister, Kay Clark, Springfield, IL.,

A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Davis will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 P.M. on Monday and visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
