Drake Irad Pitmon, 64, of Topeka, passed away at home peacefully on February 28,
2024 at 11:46 AM.

He was born on December 20, 1959 to Allen and Beverly (Smet) Pitmon in
Riverside, CA. He attended highschool at Jackson Public School in Jackson, MI,
graduating in 1978. Following high school he went straight into the military and
joined the Air Force.

Drake worked as a Security Forces Officer for the United States Air Force for 36
years. He later retired from the Forces in October 2014.

On December 24th 1989, he married Joyce K Milton. Drake and Joyce lived in
Whiting, KS until they divorced in 2001. Together they had 5 children Glenn,
Dakota, Taylor, Cheyenne and Cherokee.

He had a love for all things car racing (especially NASCAR), fishing, Michigan Wolverines and Kansas
Jayhawks. Drake raced B-Modifieds & he raced as #78P. He built all of his cars with his good friend Jerry. He was a mechanic for
Clark Chevrolet for several years with continuing his knowledge of cars for years to
come while helping family and friends. Drake loved music and hanging out with his
family playing pegs and jokers, farkle and various card games. His favorite holiday was the 4th
of July and watching the big boom fireworks. He was the biggest jokester you
would ever meet in your life, but most importantly he loved his family more than
anything. When it came to sneezing he would always say "Bless you, bless you
again, now no more."

Drake is survived by the mother of his children, Joyce Irby; sons; Glenn
Cunningham (Chrissy Cunningham), Dakota A Pitmon (Kiarra England);
daughters; Taylor Pitmon (Devonte Holford), Cheyenne Pitmon (CJ Holt),
Cherokee Pitmon (Kenzie Spreier), Cerenitie Neill
Grandchildren Brooklynne Cunningham, Jameson England, Søren Pitmon, Jaxon
Holt, Amiyah Holford, Karmyn Holt & Landyn Holt and his loyal and loving dog Zeus.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Beverly Smet-Pitmon; & older brother;
Willis Pitmon.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, 10:30 am at the
Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel, Topeka, Kansas with visitation with the family an
hour prior to service time.
