Dr. Rogelio Sanchez, 79, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, July 05, 2011. Rogelio was born July 10, 1931, in Chicago, IL, son of Jose and Juana (Diaz) Sanchez. He served in the US Army as a communications specialist. Rogelio graduated from medical school in Mexico City, and served his internship in Chicago, at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Cook County Hospital. Dr. Sanchez specialized in urology and practiced medicine in the Topeka area since 1969. He was united in marriage to Celia Sanchez in 1955.
Dr. Sanchez is survived by his wife Celia, Topeka, three sons, Luis Sanchez, Overland Park, KS, Ricardo Sanchez, Lee's Summit, MO, and Jaime Sanchez, Topeka, one grandson, Alexander Sanchez, Lee's Summit, MO, sisters, Maria Diaz and Sylvia Sanchez, and brother, Rodolfo Sanchez.
Dr. Sanchez's wishes were to be cremated and there will be no public services. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, is assisting the family with arrangements.
