Douglas Terry "Doug" Adams died on June 12, 2018 in the loving care of Midland Care Hospice House. He was attended by Faith, his loving wife of 46 years; Trevor, his eldest son; Justin (Kari), his younger son; and pet canine, Powerball. He is survived by his grandsons, Jaxson Lee Adams and Joel Louis Adams, who shared his love of gourmet pizza.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Orvel Kiger; and his brother, Kent Adams, all of his community of origin, Nevada, Missouri. Completing fifty-four Badges, Doug earned his Eagle Scout Award, going on to lead numerous youth as a Cub Scoutmaster.
Doug earned his Bachelor and Master's Degrees at Pittsburg State University, with emphases in Social Studies. He was a career educator, teaching in the public schools of Baileyville, Frankfort, and Topeka.
He found spirituality through sobriety and the fellowship of AA. He also enjoyed repurposing everyday items to find new, meaningful uses.
Doug was cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to Burlingame Road Animal Hospital, 3715 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka, KS 66609.
