Dorothy Dell "Dodie" Salters, 95, of Topeka, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at McCrite Retirement home.

She was born July 10, 1923, in Winona, Kansas, the daughter of Clifford and Dell (Nolind) Jackson.

She received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Washburn University. She taught kindergarten in Freeport, Illinois from 1963-1978 when she retired and moved back to Topeka to teach at Rochester Elementary School until she retired in 1987.

She was a member at Countryside United Methodist Church. She loved walking and shopping and enjoyed spending her time with her two Boston Terriers.

Dorothy married Finace Willard "Will" Salters on June 2, 1943 in Littleton, Colorado. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clifford Jackson, Jr.

Survivors include her sons, Barrie (Stacy) Salters of Topeka, and Jackson Lou (Sandy) Salters of Tampa, Florida; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Winona Cemetery in Winona, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association - Topeka 3625 SW 29th St. Suite 102 Topeka, KS 66614.
