Dorothy Mckinney

Dorothy McKinney went to be with her Lord late Monday evening, August 8, 2011.
"Many a woman shows how capable she is, but you excel them all." Proverbs 31: 29
Dorothy was born to Earle G. and Adah Leach in Amity, Oregon on August 20, 1913.
She was raised and educated in Wellington, KS, attended Northwestern College in Alva, OK and graduated from Kansas State University in 1938 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
She was happily married to Charles A. McKinney, Jr. on September 1, 1940 until his death in 1986.
After two stillbirths, they were blessed with three children. Their family was at the heart of everything they did.
Their children: Valarie Valois of Charlotte, NC, Charles McKinney (Janell) of Topeka, and Jack McKinney (Charleen) of Springfield, MO, with six grand children and one great- grandchild.
Dorothy was not only successful in residential real estate sales in Topeka, she was also usually in charge or involved with the local PTA, a music club, and the United Methodist Women. After her retirement, she became a writer with many published poems and articles. Dorothy was deeply interested in the welfare of anyone she could help. Always -- she embodied style, good humor, and most of all; she inspired and supported more people than anyone may ever know.
