Dorothy Marie Brown, 82, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Health Care Center in Topeka. She was born April 6, 1930 in Topeka, the daughter of William and Wilma Underwood Burman.
Dorothy was a life-long Topeka resident. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1948. Above all else, she was a devoted mother and homemaker.
Dorothy married Edward Paul Brown on June 17, 1948 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald G. Burman and her sisters, Naomi Purdy, Norma Wade and Marilyn Burman. Survivors include her children, Paula (Larry) Woodward, Barry (Terry) Brown, Richard (Susan) Brown, Craig (Nancy) Brown, David (Linda) Brown, Wm. Scott (Clara) Brown, Pamela Brown, Penny (Jason) Deutsch, Curtis Brown and Paige (Jim) Childers, twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
