Dorothy M. Barth

Dorothy M. Barth passed away April 10, 2014. She was born to Charles and Beulah Hawkins on November 24, 1928. From the age of 18 months, she was raised by Chet and Beulah Robinson.

Dorothy graduated from Topeka High School in 1947. She married Willis Gordon Stitt in October 1948. They had one child, Steven Kent Stitt. They later divorced. She married Paul W. Barth in 1958 and had one child, Paula Sue Barth. They later divorced. Paul passed away August 2, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dorothy worked for the Air Force for 34 years at the Topeka Supply Depot, Forbes Air Force Base and Kansas Air National Guard. After she retired, she worked 8 years for the KBI in the records department.

Dorothy belonged to Beulah Chapter #34, Order of the Eastern Star and Moose Lodge Chapter 1090 since 1971. She loved to play bridge, bowl and dance, oh how she did love to dance!

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Paula Sue Barth; granddaughter, Courtney Lynn Barth; and sisters, Joyce Elliott and Beverly Kesler. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Kent Stitt.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Dorothy will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
