Dorothy Nelle Lewis, 91, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021.
She was born September 20, 1929, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Harold and Nellie J. (Thomas) Beems. She was a graduate of Topeka High School.
Dorothy was employed by Sears and Roebuck Department Store in Topeka and owned and operated Heart of Flowers in Topeka until retiring.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on SW Jewell Ave, in Topeka.
Dorothy married David Tuttle Lewis on March 8, 1951 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on March 16, 1986. Survivors include her three daughters, Jan (Norman) Hensley of Topeka, Amy D. Lewis of Topeka and Nancy (Allan) King of Ozawkie; her son, David T. (Angela O'Neal) Lewis, III of Topeka; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Dorothy loved her family. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and was an avid sports fan.
A private family graveside service will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in Topeka is assisting the family.
