Dorothy Evelyn Webb Keen, 88, passed away on April 1, 2008 at Presbyterian Manor. She was born on October 27, 1919 in Madison, KS to Fred and Ruby May (Lyman) Webb. She was a homemaker. On June 5, 1938, she married Alvin Keen in Emporia. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2003.
She was a member of California Acres Church of Christ where she had taught children's classes for many years. She sang in the New Beginnings Choir. She was a 4-H leader, a 4-H fair board president, and she was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of Local 83, serving as president for two years. She was a graduate of Menninger Bible Class.
Survivors include, three daughters, Eleanor Sue Fortenbaugh of Joplin, MO; Carolyn Desormiers of Silver Lake, KS; and Helen Derby of Topeka, KS; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mildred Webb and Hazel Brown and two brothers, Robert Webb and Lyman Webb.
Funeral services will be on Friday, April 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Hope Chapel. Mrs. Keen will lie in state after noon on Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will be at Mt.
