Dorothy J. Corber, 96, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2011 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. She was born January 11, 1915 in Topeka, the daughter of Joseph and Grace E. Wentworth Gorrell.
Dorothy graduated from Topeka High School in 1933. She was employed by the State of Kansas for 10 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Helena Chapter No. 210, O.E.S.
Dorothy married William Schuenight. He preceded her in death. She married Walter Kinder. He preceded her in death. She later married Roy Corber, and he preceded her in death as well. Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Jo (Ronnie) Russell of Topeka and Donna Dee Johnson of Topeka, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Dorothy will lie in state from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Good Samaritan Fund at Aldersgate Village, 7220 SW Asbury Dr., Topeka, KS 66614 or Grace United Methodist Church, 2627 SW Western Ave., Topeka, KS 66611 or to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
