Dorothy H. Manlove
Dorothy H. Manlove, 80, Olathe, Kansas, passed away Friday, May 30, 2003 at Olathe Medical Center. She had been a resident of Topeka since 1953 before moving to Olathe in 1998.
She was born June 22, 1922 at Cleburne, Kansas to Herman T. and Ettie Maxell Holt. She graduated from Cleburne Rural High School in 1940 and Trinity Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing at Kansas City, Missouri in 1944. She served in the United States Naval Nurse Corps Reserve toward the end of WWII.
She worked at Stormont-Vail Regional Medical Center for 28 years as a staff nurse. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of Beulah Chapter No. 34 Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Max B. Manlove on August 9, 1969 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her on December 28, 1997. She served with her husband on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Kentucky Louisville Mission from 1983 to 1985.
She is survived by her son, Rodger K. Bailey, Olathe, Kansas; her sister, Helen Richmond, Kansas City, MO; and 3 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2401 SW Kingsrow Rd. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Manlove will lie in state at Penwell Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
