Dorothy F. Young, 93, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Aldersgate Village. She was born on August 28, 1919 in Auburn, Kansas to Harry and Faye Long.
Dorothy grew up in Hoyt and attended Hoyt High School. On September 3, 1939 she married Roy O. Young in Topeka. She was an office clerk with McElroy's Inc., retiring after 25 years. Dorothy was a member of Lowman United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Kaye Reeder, Topeka and Nancy Mizrahi, San Diego, California; daughter-in-law, Ann Young, North Carolina; sister, Marge Slavik, Overland Park, Kansas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Larry and five siblings.
Funeral services will be at 11 am, Thursday, May 30 at Mount Hope Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lowman United Methodist Church, 4000 SW Drury Ln, Topeka, Kansas 66604. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
