Doris Jean Thompson Hollinger, 77, of Topeka, passed away on December 27, 2018.
She was born on March 22, 1941 in Wichita, KS the daughter of Frederick and Doris Nadine (Bundren) Lauver.
She married Carl W. Thompson, Stanley Stanley, and Mike Hollinger. They all preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, James Lynn Thompson and Albert Chriss Thompson; and a brother, Frederick Lauver, Jr.
Survivors include children: Carl Martin (Irmgard), Douglas Andrew Thompson, Wayne Allen Thompson (Mary Ann), Russell Thompson (Mulyana), Jerry Stanley (Renae), Roger Stanley (Brandy), and Gary Stanley (Kelly); 34 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Amy Beck; as well as numerous extended family members.
She enjoyed reading and crocheting. She would get together with her local crochet group and they would make blankets, hats and other items for local shelters, as well as family members.
She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Topeka, as well as an active member of the JOY Ladies Group.
Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship, 430 Commercial St, Carbondale, KS 66414. Burial will follow at Carbondale Cemetery, S. Adams & 149th Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Southern Baptist Church, 1912 SW Gage Blvd. Topeka, KS 66604. The family also requests that any floral arrangements be delivered to Carbondale Church of Christian Fellowship.
