Doris M. Beard, 83, Manhattan, formerly of Topeka, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 at a retirement center in Manhattan.
Doris was born September 18, 1930 in Waco, TX, the daughter of Booker T. and Annie Mae (Marshall) Bradley and attended schools in Waco.
She worked as a clerk in the central supply area at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center for over 40 years.
She was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church; sang in the Mission Chorus; and served on the usher board.
Survivors include her daughter, Regina M. Beard, Manhattan; and sister, Lola Chase, Waco, TX. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
