Doris Irene Enloe

May 14, 1932 — November 20, 2019

Doris Irene Enloe, 87, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

She was born May 14, 1932, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Charles D. and Myrtle I. (Price) Drennon.

She attended Clay Street Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High, Topeka High School and Clark's Business College. During high school she worked part-time in the Topeka High School Cafeteria with her mother who was a full time cook, and the Service Print Shop (1121 SW Buchanan) which published the Covenanter Witness and other Christian materials. Later she was employed by the State of Kansas and as a secretary for Dr. Menninger at Winter General VA Hospital before starting a family.

As a young person, Doris came before the members of the Session of the Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church in recognition of her need of a personal Savior in Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of the church for 76 years and was the oldest continuous member of the congregation. (It was noted that in 1943 the young class of children in the church called the "Juniors" consisted of 16 boys and one girl – Doris. Nevertheless she held her ground and prayerfully followed each boy's life later on.) Mrs. Enloe was a member of the Women's Missionary Society and Women's Christian Temperance Union.

Doris married Ralph E. Enloe on October 22, 1955 in Topeka – a faithful marriage lasting 64 years.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph E. Enloe; daughter, Janice S. Mohr, sons, Charles D. Enloe, Douglas W. Enloe, Richard P. (Dawn) Enloe; grandchildren, Ella Enloe, Noah Enloe, Ethan Enloe, Hazel Enloe.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
