Doris Eileen (Clemmer) Lowe, 78, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015.
She was born February 16, 1937, in Emporia, KS the daughter of James and Erna (Gramke) Clemmer. She graduated from Newman School of Nursing where she obtained her diploma as a registered nurse.
Doris worked her entire life as a nurse for several employers including Newman Hospital and most recently for the Colmery-O'Neil Veterans Hospital in Topeka. Mrs. Lowe was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Topeka.
Doris married Clark Lowe on May 30, 1959 in Emporia, KS; he preceded her in death in 2001. Survivors include her children, Carrie A. Parr and Todd Lowe; siblings, Marlene Clemmer, Erna D. Sutton, and Danny L. (Nancy) Clemmer; two grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Parr and Hailey Elizabeth Johnson and sister-in-law, Mary Clemmer.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Clemmer.
Doris enjoyed spending time with her family and especially with her two grandchildren.
Doris will lie in state after 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 3 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave. in Topeka where the family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be at 10:00 am., Monday, January 4 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 901 SW Fillmore, Topeka, KS 66603. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka.
