Donna F. Vausbinder passed on October 19, 2009, at Topeka. She was born in Wichita, November 24, 1935, to Lester and Charlotte Pennick.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She married Charles Vausbinder June 12, 1960. He survives. Other survivors include her sister, Dee Lacatena, Wantage, NJ; a brother, Rex Pennick, Wichita; a brother in law, John Vausbinder, a sister in law, Mary Ellen Vausbinder and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Friends University, Wichita, in 1958. She later earned an elementary school Counselors Degree from Emporia State University and her Master's Degree in Education from Washburn University.
Donna was an elementary school teacher and counselor fro 39 years in Miami, FL and Topeka.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, sports and private time. She was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist, a former member of Sod Stompers and a bicycle club. She was a former member and president of the Audubon Society, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and AAUW.
Donna was cremated. Private graveside memorial services will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Church of Christ Scientist, 2600 SW Fairlawn Road, Topeka, KS 66614.
