Donna Myers

Donna T. Myers, 68, of Topeka, went to be with her Lord Thursday, July 20, 2006.

She was born March, 26, 1938 in Topeka, the daughter of Gerald and Ruth (Walters) Salyer.

She attended Topeka High School. She worked for Frito-Lay, Inc. and Stormont- Vail Regional Medical Center, retiring after 35 years of service. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Shopping with her grandchildren was her greatest joy. She was an avid doll collector and loved to help make quilts. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She married Franklin Dale Myers on June 26, 1978 in Topeka in her sisters backyard surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on November 13, 1997 and by four brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia L. Frye of Topeka; two sons, Michael D. Frye and Jefferey Scott Myers and his wife Chris, both of Topeka; seven granddaughters, DawnMarie Chambers, Michelle Prescott, Brenda Allender, Dawn Jill Allender, Ashley Lynn Myers, Nicole Alisha Myers and Grace Elizabeth Myers; one grandson, Matthew Allender and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Salyer and David A. Salyer and two sisters, Edith Myers and Sharon Owens and many loving nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Myers will lie in state after 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 23 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday July 24 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Westlawn Memorial Gardens.
