Donald Lee Streeter, (70), of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008. He was born in Parsons, KS on Dec. 15, 1937 the son of Edgar and Vinita Streeter.
Don graduated from Highland Park High School in 1955. He was in the Army Corp of Engineering where he spent most of his military service in Okinawa.
After his discharge in 1958 he worked for Western Electric in Charlotte, NC.
He married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Wasser on April 12, 1960. They moved back to Topeka in 1961 and Don worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 24 years, and then for AT&T until he retired in 1989. He then worked for the Telecommunication department of the State of Kansas until he retired in 2000. Nancy passed away Dec. 20, 2002.
He is survived by a son Bradley Streeter, his wife Susan and two grandsons Monty and Sean of Olathe, KS. A daughter, Kristy Inman, her husband Brandon and their daughter Rayonnah, Don's brother Richard and his wife Vera Streeter, all reside in Topeka.
Family will greet friends Sunday 2-4 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery at 6th and Gage in Topeka, KS.
