Donald R. Mckellar
Donald Rayford McKellar was born in Scottsville, KS, April 22, 1911, the son of Archie Rayford McKellar and Stella Henderson McKellar. He entered government civil service in the early 40's where he worked in internal auditying. He retired in 1960 and formed the Don McKellar Oil Exploration Company in Salina, KS. In 1965, he moved the company to Topeka where he operated an oil and gas lease brokerage business until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine, son Tom McKellar, Ft. Myers, FL, brother, Ray McKellar, Colorado Springs, CO, and nieces and nephews.
Private interment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 599, Topeka, KS 66601-0599 or to Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka, KS 66617. Arrangements are with Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
