Dr. Donald L. Moler, 90, Topeka, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Brewster Place.
Don was born on January 12, 1918, in Wilsey, KS the son of R.L. and Bess Moler.
He graduated from Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University, with a B.S. in 1939. He received his M.S. in 1949 and his Ph.D. in 1951 from the University of Kansas.
He was a Master Sergeant in the Army during WWII.
Don married Margaret Ansdell on Nov. 6, 1942, in Jamestown, KS. They spent most of their married life in Charleston, IL from 1951-2006. Margaret preceded him in death on July 25, 2007.
He was a University Professor and in 1961 he became the Chairman of the Educational Psychology and Guidance Department at Eastern Illinois University where he served until his retirement in the 1980's.
In 1974, Don received the C.A. Michelman Award for outstanding contributions to guidance in Illinois from the Illinois Guidance and Personnel Association.
Dr. Moler is survived by his son, Donald L. Moler, Jr. and wife, Judy of Topeka; three grandsons, Seth, Eric, Marc and wife, Julie.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thurs., April 3rd at Countryside United Methodist Church Chapel.
