Donald L. "Donnie" Higbee, Jr., 20, of Topeka, passed away Wed., Sept. 24, 2008.
He was born on March 11, 1988, in Topeka, the son of Don L. and Susan L. Vega Higbee, Sr.
Donnie was a life-time Topeka resident and graduated from SeamanHigh School. He was employed as a dietician at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was an avid pool player and a member of the Busch Pool League. He also enjoyed inventing various items.
Survivors include his parents, one brother, Guy Higbee of Ft. Worth, TX, two sisters, Mandy Masters of Lebo, Janelle Vega of Topeka, paternal grand-parents, Roy and Donna Higbee of Topeka, maternal grandfather, aunt and uncle, Bobby and Barbara Williams of Topeka, uncle, Allen Higbee of Topeka, aunt, Lori Ralph of Topeka, aunt, Cathy Porter of Topeka, aunt, Cheryl Myrick of Wichita, uncle, Kevin Myrick of Topeka; cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his maternal grandmother, Betty Myrick; his step-father, Don Vega, his aunt, Mary Myrick and Dean Myrick.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donnie Higbee Memorial Fund, sent in care of Core First Bank of Topeka.
