Donald J. Ruff
Donald J. "Don" Ruff, 68, Tecumseh, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at a local hospital.
Don was born March 27, 1942, in Detroit, MI. the son of Daniel and Alda (Pook) Ruff. He graduated from Cody High School in 1961. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1970 where he received training in electronics.
He worked for KSNT Channel 27 for seven years and KTKA television for three years and has owned and operated Solid State Communications since 1977.
He was a member of Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, and Arab Shrine Temple.
Don married Sharon Haldeman on September 3, 1966 in Topeka. She survives. Other survivors include son, Greg Ruff; daughter, Christy Ruff, both of Topeka; and grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, and Haylea.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at Shawnee Heights United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
