Donald J. Bieker, 68, of Scranton, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at his residence.
Donald was born on June 1, 1944 in Hays, Kansas to Joseph and Barbara (Riedel) Bieker. He attended local schools in Ellis and Salina and at age 18 he joined the United States Army, serving a tour of duty in France.
Donald is survived by his wife, Sheryl of Scranton; one son, Jon (Rebecca) Bieker of Gardner; one daughter, Andrea (Tim) Smith of Scranton and four grandchildren: Austin, Tambour, Ian, and Tiana. He is also survived by three sisters, Viola Billinger of Hays, Mary Goetz of Salina, and Marlaine Gottschalk of Hays as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside service with military honors will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made either to the Harden Hospice, 2121 SW Chelsea Dr, Ste 107, Topeka, KS 66614 or to the Scranton Lions Club, 314 S. Boyle St., Scranton, KS 66537.
