Donald Eugene Hull, 84, Topeka, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at his residence. He was born May 1, 1925 in Valley Falls, Kansas to George W. and Emma (Walters) Hull.
Donald was a painting contractor for 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. During WWII he served for the gunnery crew on the USS Tennessee and served on the USS Union during the Korean Conflict. In 1948 he obtained his single engine pilots license. He married Delores Martin on November 28, 1950 in Topeka. Donald was a member of the V.F. W. Post No. 1650, American Legion Post No. 1; the Moose Lodge; and Topeka Bowling Association where he was inducted into the hall of fame.
He is survived by his daughter, Tamara Hull-Starks of Topeka; son, Mark Hull (Connie) of Topeka; sisters Ruth Carson of Topeka and Florence (Jay) Kooser of Perry, KS; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Kent Hull, and brother James Hull.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery.
