Donald Franklin Schindler, 94, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016.
He was born January 29, 1922, in Valley Falls, Kansas, the son of Milton and Gertrude (Hiser) Schindler. He graduated from Topeka High School and served his country honorably in the Army during World War II.
Donald worked as an accountant supervisor at Fleming Company in Topeka for over 26 years, retiring in 1984.
Donald married Billie E. Fetter on November 11, 1948 in Topeka; she passed away on February 12, 1978. He later married Ada June Schindler on August 8, 1990 in Hawaii.
Survivors include his wife June Schindler of Topeka; daughters, Gail Reed of Steamboat Springs, CO and Leslie (Jim) Crandall of Holdrege, NE; step-daughters, Anne Weishaar of Nortonville, Pamela (Jim) Moore of McClouth and Sheryl (Rod) Coss of Lansing; step-son, William (Barbara) Robey, Jr. of Nortonville; 4 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 14 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Billie E. Fetter.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4 in the Jellison Chapel at Presbyterian Manor, 4712 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS. Interment will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery in Valley Falls, KS.
