Donald Eugene Dugan

September 30, 1941 — April 7, 2025

Topeka

Donald Eugene Dugan, 83, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at his home.

Don was born on September 30, 1941, in Winfield, KS, the son of Lawrence and Glenda (Buker) Dugan. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1958. Following high school, he proudly joined the United States Navy.

Over the course of 50 years, Don owned and operated Kamper World and then Custom Covers in Topeka, KS.

He married Mary Ann on October 9, 1988. They enjoyed working in their yard together over the years. The couple enjoyed their trips to local casinos as well as Elko and Las Vegas. It never mattered what they were doing as long as they were together. Donald also loved to tinker around the house.

Donald had a special bond with his daughter, Dawn, and her husband, Jimmy. They were blessed to be his caregivers over the past year, allowing him to remain at home. As a result, he reconnected with his grandsons Zack, Eli, and Tristian.

He leaves behind his children, Dawn (Jimmy) McMullen, Lyn Funk, Jeff Bottenberg and Jeni (Chris) Brown; grandchildren, Zack (Brea) Oglesby (Weichert), Eli Weichert, Rory Bottenberg, Tyler (Kassie) Stock, Joshua (Elizabeth) Stock, Alec Stock, Kody (Shelby) Brown and Jared Brown and his great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Dugan; grandsons, Isaac and Tristan Weichert; brother, Edward Dugan; and his parents, Lawrence and Glenda Dugan.

Don's family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Brenda, his home health aide, who helped provide him with care and formed a special bond with him.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
