Donald E. DeForest, 94, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018.
He was born September 8, 1924, in Agricola, Kansas, the son of Justin and Ruth (Beard) DeForest.
He served in the Army during WWII under General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge.
Donald married Ellen Doris Fann on August 17, 1947 in Waverly, KS.
Donald was employed by Kansas Department of Transportation as an Engineering Tech retiring after 39 years.
He had a strong Christian faith and was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include wife, Ellen Doris DeForest; daughters, Connie Bahner, Donna (Kevin) Garrett; sister, Imogene (Harold) Gentry; grandchildren, Steven (Penny) Fritts, Scott (Ruth) Fritts, Wendy Fritts, Brandon (Heather) Zoeller, Nathan Zoeller, Ashley Zoeller; seven great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at Central Church of Christ, 1250 SW College Ave. Topeka, KS 66604. Inurnment will be at a later date.
