Donald B. Johnson, 87, Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014.
He was born February 13, 1926, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Emmett B. and Pearl C. (Dittmar) Johnson. Don graduated from Topeka High School in 1944. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Don was employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 40 years, retiring in March 6, 1988. He was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church and C.W.A. Local 6401.
Donald married Lois M. Scheidegger on June 3, 1951 in Soldier, Kansas. She survives, other survivors include their children, Carol (Bruce) Inloes, Topeka and Bruce A. (Kena) Johnson, Maple Hill; four grandchildren, Michelle (Jason) Wheeland, Olathe, KS; Bradley Johnson; Brian (Melissa) Inloes and Wade Inloes, all of Topeka; and 7 great-grandchildren, Chase, Kalie, Braden, Brinley, Brennan, Zachary and Everett.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm., Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel-Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
