Don Walters

Don L. Walters died Dec. 2, 2012. Don was born July 5, 1926 and was adopted by Emma & Lester Walters. He attended Topeka High School, left school to join the Navy during WWII, and later graduated from Washburn University. Don married Lois Headley Nov. 27, 1946. He owned Walters' Super Saver grocery store in Potwin for 40 years.

Don is survived by his wife, Lois; daughters, Joyce Merryman, Amy Holland and Emily Robberson; nine grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Don was predeceased by his sister, Doris Ford and daughter, Becky Torrence.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm and services will be 10:00 am Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 both at Westside Christian Church, 432 Southwest Lindenwood Ave. Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to Westside Christian Church or Midland Hospice. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
