Don Summers

Don Summers, 76, of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at a Topeka hosptial. He was born on March 14, 1929 in Arapahoe, NE, the son of Reuel and Edna Shannabarger Summers. Don spent most of his life in Topeka. He was a draftsman for several different engineering firms in Topeka. Don married Delores Jean Drebing on February 6, 1949 in Lincoln, NE. She preceded him in death on Novembember 22, 1992. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Kermit "Chub" Summers. Survivors include two daughters, Vickie Withroder and her husband, Roger of Halstead, Christie Davies and her husband, Dan of Peoria, AZ, four grandchilden, two great-grandsons, four brothers, Reuel "Bud" Summers, Robert Summers, Jon Summers, Ian Summers and three sisters, Joan Heidrick, Jane Whipple and Judy Neeman and his close friend, Cleta Clark of Topeka. Cremation has taken place. Private inurnment will take place in Rochester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Midland Hospice Care, 200 S.W. Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 .
