Don H. Kendall, 83, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009.
Don was born June 14, 1925 in Wichita, KS to Charles and Mildred (Lewis) Kendall. He was a graduate of Iola High School. Don served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corps and later was employed full time with the Kansas National Guard, retiring in 1980. He was an active member of University United Methodist Church and American Legion, Post #1.
Don is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Alberta, his two sons, Steven L (Jan) Kendall and John P Kendall, both of Topeka, four grandchildren, Jeff, Kelly, Leslie, and Jordan, all of Topeka, and a sister, Emma Jane (Ben) DeMoss of Walnut, KS. Don is preceded in death by both parents, and a brother, Dale Kendall.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 1st, 2:00-5:00 pm, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 2nd, 1:00 pm, at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel. Rev. Mitch Todd of University United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Gardens.
