Don D. Depew, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at Brewster Place Retirement Community Topeka, KS
He was born Aug. 18, 1921 in Neodesha, KS to Clarence W. and Dorothy Bushaway Depew.
He was a graduate of Neodesha High School he attended Kansas State Univ. where he met and married Edith Helen Willis May 27, 1945 in Orlando, Fl.
Before deployment with the Air Force in World War II. upon his return he graduated from the school of the school of Architecture at Kansas State Univ.
He then joined the architectural firm of Griest and Ekdahl. Don became a founder when the firm became Ekdahl, Davis, Depew, Persson/Architects, P.A. where he worked for forty years.
When Don and Edith moved to Topeka they became active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Don enjoyed giving back to the community through leadership in helping to establish Boy Scout troop #3, he was a member of the Downtown Optimist Club, American Institute of Architects and the Holiday Rambler Travel Trailer Club.
Surviving are his wife Edith Depew, Son Greg and his wife Vicki Depew of Topeka, Daughter Carolyn Wadley of Topeka, Daughter Diane Isaac and her husband Ken of Meade, KS. Brother Harry L.Depew and his wife Frances Neodesha, KS and loving grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Depew will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Monday Aug. 16, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004 at Westminster Presbyterian Church
with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
