Dolores J. (Bouska) Lewis, 83, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2015.
She was born on December 5, 1931, in Haddam, KS. She grew up in Belleville, KS, graduating from Belleville High School in 1949, where she was valedictorian of her high school. She was the daughter of Luther and Doris Bouska. She had two brothers, James and Donald Bouska, as well as her parents, who preceded her in death. She had one sister, Janet (Marshall) Grimm, of Ann Arbor, MI, who survives.
After attending Kansas State University for 2 years, she married James J. Lewis and was married to him for 22 years. They raised four sons, Kirk, Keith, Kelly and Bryan. She lived in Manhattan from 1963-1974. Then she moved to Topeka where she resided the rest of her life. She earned a BBA degree in Accounting from Washburn University where she would go on to be Comptroller from 1980-1998. She also earned her CPA Certificate in 1981.
Dolores enjoyed many things including cooking and bird watching. She liked both cats and dogs and often visited friends with pets. She was proud of her four grandchildren and her Czech heritage and once visited the Czech Republic with her son, Kirk.
She is survived by three sons, Kirk (Jayne), of Northfield, MN, Keith and Bryan, of Wichita, KS and by four grandchildren, Stuart, of Austin, TX, Scott, of Denver, CO, Cody, and Caylen, of Wichita, KS.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015, at St. David's Episcopal Church, 3916 SW 17th St, Topeka, KS 66604. Inurnment will follow the following day at 11:30 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, in Belleville, KS.
