Dolores I. Salsbury, 77, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010.
She was born June 16, 1932 in Horton, KS; daughter of Wiley and Arlie (Hallauer) Stone. She attended Horton High School and graduated from Edison State College, Florida.
Dolores married Buddie Salsbury on October 31, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri. Together they raised seven children. Dolores returned to school after many years to obtain her nursing degree and worked as a RN in Kansas and Texas. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Dolores visited eleven countries and spent ten years motorhoming and golfing throughout North America with her husband.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 56 years, Buddie Salsbury, Topeka; five children, Tammy (Bob) Houchin; Aaron Salsbury; Eric Salsbury; Sherry Salsbury; and Amy (Roberto) Serrano; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and twin sister, Doris Sowders. She was preceded in death by her son Benjie Salsbury and daughter Leslie Price.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Monday, March 15, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5973 SW 25th St., Topeka, KS 66614. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Family will receive friends from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604, with a rosary service at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Midland Care Hospice Services, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or Christ the King Catholic Church.
