Dixie Lee Senne, 86, of Topeka, KS received her permanent set of wings on January 23rd, 2018.
She was born October 15, 1931 in Holton, KS to Thomas and Lenora (Banaka) Smith.
She graduated from Topeka High in 1949.
Dixie married Delbert Lee Senne on July 11th, 1951 in Fairbanks, AK while he was serving in the US Air Force. He preceded her in death in 1994. Dixie was also preceded in death by her daughter Debra Carol (Senne) Artzer in 2014.
Dixie was a homemaker. She owned and operated her own cake supply store named Create a Cake for approximately 10 years. She also enjoyed decorating cakes for friends and family. She had the honor to be the official cake decorator for the Kansas Birthday Celebration, for which she received several certificates of recognition from the governor. She loved dancing, quilting, and sewing.
She is survived by two sons, Darrell Dean Senne, Topeka, KS, and David Alan Senne, Meriden, KS. Dixie was blessed with four grandchildren, Wendy Artzer-Powell, Chris Artzer, Jacob Artzer, and Aaron Senne, all of Topeka, KS. She had five step-grandchildren, Levi Beecham, Willie Beecham, Crystal Beecham, Marcia Beecham, and Kimberly Rauch. She also had three great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 29 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave. where the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
