Dixie Jean Des Jardins Kull, a master gardner and long-time resident of Topeka, died Friday at her home. She was 72.
Born November 1, 1932, in Clay Center, Ms. Kull was a graduate of Manhattan High School and Kansas State University (class of 1954). At K-State she was active in student publications, including The Royal Purple yearbook. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority.
She was the daughter of Jules Elmer Des Jardins and Twila Irene Moore and the sister of Bill Des Jardins, all of whom predeceased her.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel D. Kull and his wife, Kathy, of Topeka and David M. Kull of Austin, Texas.
Surviving grandchildren are Jacob Kull of Wichita, Matthew Kull, Kansas City, Kan., Warren Kull, Austin, Joshua, and Tyler Kull of Austin. Also stepgrandchildren Cory Young and his wife, Shannon, of Kansas City, Mo., and Carrie Andrews and her husband, Lance, of St. Louis, Mo., and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside inurnment services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2 at Sunset Cemetery, Manhattan. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society, 2625 NW Rochester Rd., Topeka 66617.
